Is it possible to physically remove my rear wing from my 2007 Subaru WRX?

I want to remove my rear wing from my 2007 Subaru WRX w/out going to paying someone to do it. The rear wing came factory with the car, however it's not very appealing and i want to remove it. Is it possible to do this?

2. It should have mounting bolts on the boot lid which you can undo to remove it. You will have to fill the holes and touch up the paint.


3. Why not just register on all the Subaru forums and find someone with the same color who is looking for a wing. You guy's can just trade trunks and locks and no holes to fill or anything.


4. hi caro, yes it is , you can do it with help from a friend to hold it for you, there are 10 mm nuts holding it on i think 4 of them, and a safety cable was put on some of the models. and you will also have to remove the wiring harness to the brake light ,

   BUT there will be holes in the trunk lid and it will be expensive to have them filled in and repainted.

   if you really want to do this try to sell the whole trunk lid to someone that has the same color car and you will need theirs. there is also long rods under the henges or springs is what we call them it helps hold up the extra weight of the spoiler . but i would not say anything to the new buyer unless they know about the springs they are kind of hard to remove without a factory tool to do it.

   as far as price to sell the whole assembly call a dealer's parts dept. and ask what they cost then try to sell the whole thing for at least 75% of that price . i know this is a little long but i thought you should know the whole story . good luck seeya greg b.
