How do you upgrade to Vista in VMWare Fusion?

I have Windows XP running with VMWare fusion on my Macbook. I have the Vista Upgrade, how do I upgrade? I tried, but it wouldn't work.

First you need your serial number for Vmware fusion
Then you need the vista upgrade cd....
