Can I run Ubuntu with VMware or Parallels? Just was wondering if I could run Ubuntu with VMware of Parallels Desktop, because in VMware there is an "other" option.

How can I connect an Ubuntu 7.04 vmware to internet (my host OS is Xp and internet connection is 802.11g)? Before, I use to have my internet connection via ethernet and configuring the Ubuntu vmware machine as "Bridged" I had no problem but now that I use wireless (with WAP encryption) and using static private IP in the host (XP sp2), I have no idea of how to make it work. Please suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time.

Internet not working on xp but working in vmware ubuntu? HI Friends, Since last two days i cant able to work internet on my desktop xp. The webpage is not opening in the browser. I have another os ubuntu in vmware, the internet works perfectly in vmware os but not working on desktop OS, I checked the basic connections in the device manager and everything seems fine. I cannot login to Ubuntu with VMware!!? After I installed VMware player on my computer, the first Operating system I download is Ubuntu 804 desktop image after the Ubuntu OS loads I see a login screen that asks for my username then my password. I do not understand why there is a password to Ubuntu. This is the first time I have used it, I have not setup any protected accounts on Ubuntu. Is there any step that I am missing?

VMWare Player - Ubuntu 8.10 Server help - how to enable networking? I have downloaded the free VMWare Player from vmware.com and the Ubuntu 8.10 Server image from linhost.info. The virtual machine boots up fine, but has no networking capability. I have clicked on the Network Card icon and tried every setting, but still, the Linux Guest OS inside cannot detect a (virtual) NIC. Any ideas? Thanks
